Water testing WaiCare workshopAdvice Available

As with any volunteer group, we are only able to make suggestions to the community about what we believe is good environmental practice.

It is our aim to assist and inform, not dictate

Open Weekdays

We try to keep our base at Matakawau open to the public on weekday mornings for drop in visitors, and we maintain email and phone contacts.

We believe it is important is to try to connect with a wide range of people about environmental issues.

To that end, we work hard to maintain our website and write regular newsletters ‘EnviroNews’ in the Waiuku Post, and in the local RD4 publication ‘Peninsularama’.

Field Trips and Workshops

We organise regular field trips on properties to view environmental projects being carried out by local landowners, and we run workshops on topics such as water quality testing and kauri dieback.

If we don’t know the answers, we’ll try and find out.

Robert and Kaye Hamilton are justifiably proud of the many protected, revegetating, areas of native bush they are working hard to nurture on their Awhitu beef farm
