Help with Planting Projects

The Landcare plant nursery can raise 20,000 plants a year (as long as we have enough volunteers!).

For local landowners looking to retire an area of land, perhaps a hillside or stream banks, come and talk to us about revegetation. For more detailed information about getting help with your planting project, please see our information page here.

Buy Plants ex Nursery or in Ground

There are two options, either to buy plants ex-nursery (minimum order of 300 plants), or we can quote on specific projects to supply in-ground plants (site visit required, and a minimum order of 1,000 plants). For these projects, we would organise paid labour to do the actual planting.

Landowners would be responsible for fencing off and preparing the area (eg spraying kikuyu) prior to planting. There are a number of funds available to assist landowners with fencing costs, and links to these are included on our site.

If neighbours with adjoining properties are considering planting out the margins of a stream which is common to all properties, it may be that we can provide assistance with a joint funding application.

Just ask, we’ll see if we can help

Plant orders will be taken each year for supply of plants the following autumn / winter. First in, first served. We look forward to being able to assist local landowners with their future planting projects.  Click here for more detailed information.
